Meet Christopher Reed
1st Vice Chair
Chris comes from Cherokee, North Carolina. He resides in the Swain County half of the Qualla Boundary. His maternal grandfather was Beloved Man Dr. Jeremiah Wolfe and grandmother, the artist Juanita Wolfe. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Wildcatt and the artist and educator, Ollie Reed. Christopher’s father is a Marine Corps veteran, former police officer and magistrate Samuel Farrel Reed. Lastly, Christopher’s mother is registered nurse, Robin Wolfe.
He studied Hospitality and Tourism Management at the University of North Carolina Greensboro (2016.) An avid runner, he held the positions of Event Planner and President of the UNCG Running Club. He currently holds a coaching certification through Road Runners Club of America, First Aid / CPR / AED through the American Red Cross, and a Bloodborne Pathogen cleanup certification and certificate through the American Red Cross and American Heart Association, respectively. Christopher has worked in retail, hospitality, and non-profit management. He oversaw groups in the fitness industry and helped EBCI undergraduate students in cultural and professional development.
In August of 2022, Chris was nominated and appointed to the Western Carolina University Cherokee Center Advisory Board. He is a lifelong Democrat. He has contributed to the party and candidates across national, state, and municipal campaigns. His favorite campaigns over the years have been Barack Obama’s and Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaigns.
